  • Jurassic World (Spoiler-Free Review)

    Back in the summer of 1993, Steven Spielberg's "Jurassic Park" was creatively marketed as a film that was 65 million years in the making. While it hasn't been quite that long since the last "Jurassic Park" outing, it has certainly felt like it at times.

    After 14 years of being held captive in Development Hell, it would take two writing teams - Rick Jaffa & Amanda Silva and Colin Trevorrow & Derek Connolly - to bring "Jurassic Park" back to the big screen.

    Directed by Trevorrow - who helmed the entertaining Spielberg-esque "Safety Not Guaranteed" - was wisely chosen to fill the shoes for this nostalgic trip to "Jurassic World". And it was also an equally wise choice to bring in such fresh meat with the likable stars of Bryce Dallas Howard and Chris Pratt.

    This time around - and a first for the franchise - Jurassic World is a fully functional park at Isla Nublar which is the same island of the first film. After ten years of operation, the park is looking to spike attendance by introducing hybrid dinosaurs. Not surprisingly, this new hybrid dinosaur - the Indominus Rex - outwits the humans to escape his paddock to wreak havoc on the guests.

    For starters, this movie is a whole lot of fun and is easily the franchise's best sequel. The action is well-shot and it's genuinely exciting. The film's third act
